Flowers and Friends II
53" x 53" Flowers and Friends II was made by Karen Kay and hand quilted by Sarah Chambers. Karen first intended to use a simple border, "but, as I began to draw in one corner, the border took on a life of its own. I was fascinated with the drawing and just kept going until I reached the other corner." Vines, stems and flowers flow from the applique blocks and border designs. Friends and Flowers II appeared on the November 1998 cover of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine.
